SodaSlim Ingredients: All Five On The Label

SodaSlim's Supplement Facts panel lists five ingredients. Below is each one, what it's doing, and — stated plainly — how much evidence actually sits behind it.

1. Caffeine Anhydrous — 138 mg

The only ingredient with a widely-published amount, and the formula's engine. "Anhydrous" simply means dried and concentrated — chemically identical to the caffeine in coffee, just in powder form for precise dosing.

Context: a cup of brewed coffee is roughly 95 mg, a can of cola about 34 mg, a cup of green tea about 28 mg. So one SodaSlim capsule is comparable to a strong cup and a half of coffee.

The part the panel doesn't total: both the green tea and green coffee bean extracts contain naturally occurring caffeine of their own. Your actual per-capsule intake is therefore somewhat above 138 mg, and the exact figure isn't published.

Evidence: strong for alertness and a modest short-term metabolic effect. Weak for meaningful standalone long-term weight change.

2. Green Tea Extract

Produced from the leaves of Camellia sinensis and among the most-researched botanical extracts anywhere. Its catechins, particularly EGCG, have been studied extensively for fat oxidation and energy expenditure. Also a source of additional caffeine.

Evidence: genuinely real, consistently modest. Trials frequently use doses above what a general capsule contains.

3. Green Coffee Bean Extract

From unroasted coffee beans, which retain chlorogenic acids that roasting mostly destroys. Researched for effects on glucose handling and fat metabolism, and another caffeine contributor.

Evidence: legitimate mechanism, small effect sizes. Worth knowing that some of the most-cited early studies in this specific area were later found to have serious methodological problems.

4. Garcinia Extract

From the rind of the garcinia fruit, built around hydroxycitric acid and a proposed effect on fat synthesis. A category fixture for decades.

Evidence: inconsistent. Better-controlled human trials have generally found small or no effect on body weight. Extraction and standardisation also vary widely between brands, so two products listing "garcinia extract" aren't necessarily comparable.

5. Raspberry Ketone

An aromatic compound found naturally in raspberries and produced industrially for supplement use — the amount in actual raspberries is far too small to be a practical source.

Evidence: the weakest here, and it's worth being direct. Most supporting work is in cell cultures and rodents at doses that don't translate to human supplementation. Well-designed human trials are essentially absent. It's a recognisable name more than a demonstrated mechanism.

The Capsule Shell

Vegetable cellulose rather than gelatin, making the format suitable for most vegetarian diets.

Ranking Them Honestly

If you sorted these five by weight of human evidence for the thing they're being sold for:

  1. Caffeine — real effects, modest and short-term, well documented
  2. Green tea extract — real, modest, well studied
  3. Green coffee bean extract — plausible mechanism, small effects, mixed study quality
  4. Garcinia extract — inconsistent results across better trials
  5. Raspberry ketone — minimal human evidence

That's not a reason to dismiss the product. It's a reason to set expectations at the top of that list rather than the bottom.

What's Missing From The Panel

Published coverage disagrees on whether the four extracts carry individual milligram figures. One review specifically notes doses running lower than clinical studies use, particularly for garcinia and raspberry ketone. Confirm the current panel on your bottle, and request figures from the brand in writing if it matters to your decision.

Bottom Line

A short, honest-looking label with one genuinely active ingredient and four supporting extracts of descending evidential weight. The caffeine disclosure is a credit to the brand — plenty of products in this category bury it. See how these ingredients work together, or check who should skip it.
